Going to a salsa, tango or any type of partner dance class can be
quite intimidating. Most people who go to classes are invited by friends and
have a safety blanket. Those who go to dance classes on their own are sometimes
left in a situation of not being able to fit into the group. You can get around
this problem by having a dance partner or dance buddy arranged for you who is
also at the same beginner stage as yourself. This is effective because the
dance partner would have the same motives for learning as you and both of you
would progress through the dance class at a quicker rate than normal. Dancing
is mainly about being confident in what your are doing and being able to guide
yourself and lead or follow your dance partner through the basics.
